About The Manor Schools

Established in 1983, Bellamy Manor School was the original Manor School for owner Jan Kottke.   Bellamy Manor moved to its present location in 1990.  Bellamy Manor’s reputation for advanced childhood education traveled into Chesapeake, which brought Greenbrier Manor its place on the map in 1992.  As enrollment increased and interest continued to soar, Broad Bay Manor School was opened in 1993.  Enrollment continued to quickly climb in each of these schools and Beach Manor opened in the Courthouse area in the fall of 1996.

High Self Esteem A Love of Learning

The Manor School’s goal is to ensure each child realizes their full potential.  Our loving environment nurtures and teaches children as they develop a positive self image.  We strive to instill a lifelong love of learning in the children through individualized instruction.  The Manor Schools’ highly trained staff is dedicated to the emotional well being of the children.  Movement, music and Spanish instruction enhance a full academic curriculum.

Curriculum

Because young children learn through a wide variety of methods and at varying rates, The Manor Schools have developed an eclectic approach to early childhood education. Using materials gathered from Montessori, the British Infant System, and traditional recognition of numbers and counting from 1 - 10, to initial consonant sounds and reading. Important throughout the program is the emphasis on developmental readiness. The key to achieving these goals is to foster a noncompetitive classroom environment and a relaxed approach to instruction.
