June 2010

Dear Parents,

As the end of the school year hurtles towards us, I would like to reminisce a bit, for it truly has been a wonderful year. The school spirit and parental support have been absolutely tremendous.  Thank you, one and all!  It seems like years ago, but remember, the fantastic Pumpkin Patch Parade last fall?  In addition, the Holiday program brought out the sweetness and enchantment of the children and reinforced the purpose of what everything is for – the spirit of love and friendship we all share. We've had several successful fundraisers that have enabled us to upgrade our computers and purchase new equipment for the classrooms.  Looking back over the past nine months I see achievement and growth in the children, in the school, and in the BMMS staff.  We owe it all to you and your unflagging, cheerful support.  Thanks for sharing your child with us and providing us the opportunity to teach and the enjoyment of watching them mature.

Our Mothers Day Out children finish the year learning about spring and the beach while the threes, fours, and Pre-k classes will study Dr. Seuss and his zany characters.  The Cat in the Hat and all his friends--Thigwick, Horton, and Yertle become our vehicles for learning.  Rhymes, math, crafts, and songs all focus on Seuss themes during these last days.  It all ends with the notorious Breakfast at Broad Bay featuring Green Eggs and Han (of course!)  The children have a grand time with all this while an incredible amount of learning takes place.

Kindergarten prepares for their final ceremony.  They review all they have learned from the unit studies, then write about their favorite unit as well as illustrate it.  On June 10th we will have are graduation ceremonies for our oldest group.  Mrs. Fitzwater’s class  will graduate on June 10th at 9:15 and Mrs. Brantley’s class will graduate on June 10th at 1:30.  Bring your camera and tissues.  This is a nostalgic moment for many of us!

As the weather turns warm many children sunburn.  If your child is sensitive to the sun remember to put sunscreen on him/her before he comes to school.

Tuition for June is 6/11 of what you normally pay.  A tuition schedule should be attached.  Our last day of school is June 16.   Thank you again for a wonderful year.  I hope to see many of you either this summer or next fall.   If not, I thank you for your support this year and wish you and your child luck next year.  If you are not returning, please return the green binder so we can recycle it next year.

Sincerely,

               Jackie

P.S.  If you have delayed signing up for the summer program, please turn in your form.  We need an accurate count of students so we can effectively plan and staff for the summer.   Thanks!
